I would prefer not to wear socks - the strap tightens when worn
I usually wear size 7 tennis shoes. I ordered a size 7 from Chocos and they were too big. I sent them back and ordered a size 6. Size 6 is perfect so you may need to order one size down. Also, I like that the straps are adjustable, but figured I'm not a fan of socks. I can loosen it up to wear comfortably for a while, but after walking around or being in shoes for a few hours, the straps tighten slightly, leaving my big toe a little clogged. So next time I get a pair I will definitely go "fingerless".
