The unit itself is of excellent quality but there is no component in the latches as they basically keep the lid closed but not tight. This product would have 5 stars if it had better quality fasteners. On two road trips where the OAT was 90 to 100 F and the IAT was 70 to 75 F, the ice melted significantly over an 8 hour period, even with infrequent access to the contents. It's a great alternative to the Yeti for the price, but in the US South/Southwest it won't handle ice for several days during the summer months at 90F as per the specs. (All items in the chest were chilled or frozen before being placed in the chest. Added 40 pounds of ice at the start of the journey.)
