Review on 🐱 Efficient Solution for Long Haired Cats: Dr. Elsey's Long Haired Cat Litter, 8lbs by Ian Hallford

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Perfect for my long haired Maine Coon

I am surprised by the many negative reviews of this litter regarding bad smells. I have 4 rescue cats and we live in a one bedroom apartment so it's crowded. We have 4 bins and I didn't want to be constantly sniffing the bins, which I always find a problem with clay fills, so we looked for a litter that would absorb odors better and found this. When you have 4 cats that go to the bathroom all the time it's hard to keep track of them although I do my best to scoop them out several times a day but this litter works so well it's easy. We've tried every type and brand of litter on the market, from walnut shells to pine, but this type and brand is among the best. You can't beat Odor Absorbing Crystal Debris. As long as you make sure you pick it up after they poop in the box and stir the crystals while they pee, you shouldn't have an odor problem. When it starts smelling and turning a yellowish tint, which happens to us about once every two weeks, it's time to switch to fresh putty. They can come into my apartment and never know that we have 4 cats with this litter plus 2 cats that should cross over to this one from Ton and they are doing great. But the biggest plus is that my long haired Maine Coon has no problem holding on to its back. I only deducted one star because it's expensive for one person with 4 cats.
