Review on Monitor Temperature Humidity Detector Mountable by Logan Barela

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not very accurate and no warnings if you don't open the app

I bought this device randomly as there were very few reviews but judging by the description it has everything I wanted. I was looking for a battery powered monitor that could report temperature and humidity and carbon monoxide and smoke/fire detection was a bonus. I wanted to leave this in a house I don't live in during the winter and provide remote monitoring and alerts if something goes wrong with my heating system while I'm away. The unit arrived quickly, but oddly there is no name or model number on the box and the instructions that came with the unit are two tiny pamphlets that you'll need a magnifying glass to read (I'm not kidding). The instructions are marginal and the Wi-Fi connection took about 5 attempts before finally connecting. I have a calibrated battery operated temperature and humidity monitor but it doesn't have a remote monitoring or alarm function, but I kept them side by side in my garage for a few days. The temperature reported by the device differs by 7 degrees and the humidity by a mile. My calibrated block showed 20% and this block showed 39%. As for the app, it just provides you with the information that is displayed on the device. You can set thresholds for all monitored parameters, but this doesn't allow for text or email notifications unless you pay an annual fee. Also any interruption of your Wi-Fi and the device will not automatically reconnect. This makes the device practically unusable for my purposes in my opinion.

Pros
  • Fire safety
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
