PRO: At first I was pleasantly surprised by the remote control. It reminded me a lot of the Rii 2.4GHz wireless mini keyboard (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Z81U3YY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) that I once owned and enjoyed . The amazing thing about this remote control was its price. That's half the price of the Rii, so I decided to buy it. In terms of feel and build quality, it was comparable to the Rii, albeit slightly lower. The Rii's body has a rubber feel, while this remote's body is made of hard plastic. I don't want to give the impression that it's cheap because it was hard and needed a few drops. The buttons were as good as the Rii if not better due to the white trim which helped you tell one button from the other (see photo). What I also liked was the bezel that separates the trackpad from the body. I've had other wireless keyboards, including the more expensive Rii models, where the trackpad is just part of the body and you end up touching it constantly, which is annoying. What definitely outperformed this remote over the Rii was the charging cable used. This remote can be charged with any old USB Micro-B charger that everyone has from old phones, while the Rii uses the more obscure Mini-B. Also, this remote connects and works the same as the Rii. To be honest, this remote and the Rii model are so similar that I have to say that one is a fake of the other. This does not mean that fakes are bad, sometimes they can be better than the original, but in this case there are obvious problems. The first problem was the battery. The Rii model has an internal rechargeable battery, this remote looks like an old flip phone battery stuffed into the back. The battery lasted a couple of weeks the first time, so that was good, but over time, on subsequent charges, it lasted less and less until it finally died. Of course, that happens with all rechargeable devices, but the problem was that I only had this remote for two months before it died. The second problem was the deterioration of the nature of the wireless range and key inputs (key presses). First, you could point the remote in any direction and let the device (the Nvidia Shield in my case) register the input. I live in a small apartment so I can't talk remotely too much, but I remember being in the bathroom and controlling the TV from there (yeah, I know, that's gross). But over time I've noticed that sometimes you have to press a key two or even three times for the input to appear. Sometimes, if you didn't point your keyboard at the device, it didn't register at all. GENERAL: Great price, good starting quality, poor battery and hardware durability. It went like this for two months. Just spend the extra $10 and get Rii, which is a clear rip off anyway.
