Our house has a shaded patio which would be lovely without the bugs. So far this light has been a fantastic purchase. The LED light easily illuminates the entire area and in just 4 nights the insect screen was complete! I'm very impressed because the bugs don't show up until the summer. In other words, this light does exactly what I was hoping for. The best so far? Among the mosquitoes were three dead flies! Killing the flies alone would be worth every penny. I currently turn on both lights at sunset, then turn off the LED and leave the bug repellent on when I go to bed. When I wake up, I turn off the insect trap. Again. works exactly as I had hoped. the perfect solution for our needs. When cleaning the lantern, I found it helpful to unscrew the lantern completely and shake it slightly to dislodge the carcasses. One more thing, our outdoor light was a fixture with glass around the bulb. I decided to remove the glass so the Zapplight was fully exposed. That made sense to me because the glass fixture was covered in cobwebs and dust anyway. Also, it gives Zapplight better visibility for luring and killing bugs. ***Update: The white LED part stopped working just three months after purchase. I tried to email Zapplight twice and both requests were completely ignored. Sorry. Damn.
