Review on LandingZone Docking Station: Enhanced πŸ”Œ Connectivity for 15-inch MacBook Pro (2016-2019) by Sean Ceo

Not worth the money.

My biggest surprise when I took it out of the box was that it's made of plastic. Inside is a metal bar that gives it some stability, but the overall quality right out of the box leaves a lot to be desired. It's easy to connect, I carefully read the instructions, there is a slight caveat with the video outputs - but that's understandable, I chose the right cables, the output is double. My USB drives are different. They never stop because they are connected to a device that has its own power supply. If I close my MacBook overnight, the next morning I have a screen full of errors saying drives were removed without ejecting, over and over and over again. I have to eject and unplug them before putting the Mac to sleep, which is annoying, and I have to unplug them or unplug the dock when removing the MacBook for an extended period of time. My current thinking is to plug a USB hub into a USB-C port on the side of the machine, it's actually a pass-through to one of the MacBook ports - I'm assuming it will work the same as plugged into the was lateral side of the device. MacBook - but it's another purchase on top of the already pricey hardware just to get the right functionality - while the whole point for anyone who gets it is being able to connect their old USB drives to the dock itself. It works out? Yes. Is it enough for the price? no Unfortunately, I was very busy at work and missed the return window - it would have gone back.
