Review on Chuanganzhuo Camera Universal Normal Reverse by Jacob Sampino

***UPDATE March 2019*** It's been 3 years since I installed these two cameras in my car and they still perform like never before! I haven't had a single problem with any of them! Now that I have a new truck I will be buying 2 more to match this vehicle. Click buy now, you won't regret it! I've also updated my original rating from 4 to 5 stars to reflect the kind of durability you don't typically get from mass-produced Chinese products. I bought 3 of these cameras in total, 1 for my wife's VW Passat for a Pioneer AVH-X4800 setup and 2 for my VW Touareg so I can have a front and rear view along with a Pioneer AVH-4100NEX setup. 1 out of 3 cameras was DOA which delayed the installation process by 2 days while I was halfway through the installation. Thankfully, Revain has a great replacement process that got the new camera on the air the next day thanks to Revain Prime. Quality control could be better as I believe everything should be tested before it leaves the factory. Whatever you do, unless you want to have an open hole in your car while you wait for a new one, plug in the camera and make sure it's working before you install it! Installation was pretty easy for the most part. On the Passat I had to completely remove the rear bumper to effectively drill a hole for it to fit properly. The nut that came with the camera sucks, they were all loose and not tight enough for my liking so I suggest you go to a hardware store and buy a 5/16 lock nut and washer. I also bought a 2 inch rubber washer to put on the mount to keep water out of the camera. The included video cable was more than long enough to reach the head unit from the trunk. The picture quality is pretty good. good considering it's a $16 camera. Both day and night images are clear and bright. See photo above. Overall I'd say this is a good addition to your car if you want to add some extra security to the front/rear camera. As for durability. We'll just have to wait and see how long it lasts. I'll post an update so everyone knows! If they all hold out until then, it will make up for the dead camera. that have arrived and I will change my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Also, please note that this is a tool that will help you see for sure what is directly behind your vehicle. Remember to turn around and look both ways when backing up. Be safe out there!
