I have previously used an Asus 1440P monitor and in comparison the contrast ratio on the Cooler Master is much better. When you turn on local dimming, it works wonders. It's not perfect, and you'll notice some flowering in darker games with bright highlights, but still, it's far better than any side-lit display. The monitor can get very bright, sometimes too bright for me, but it's nice to be able to turn it on when I need it, it can also get very dim, which is great for gaming in darker rooms. Colors flash and bring games to life. After using this I never want to go back to a side lit panel. I also really like the base, it is made entirely of metal and the display is absolutely stable and does not wobble. While not everything is perfect, there are occasional issues with receiving signals. There was a situation where I was using my X series and decided to go back to my computer after I was done and the monitor couldn't see my computer so it just tried to see the computer in a continuous loop. I had to turn off the monitor to get it working again. It only happened once so maybe it was an accident but the benefits outweigh the bad. For the $499 I paid for this monitor I think it's worth it. I also tried the 4k version but it came with dead pixels and visually I couldn't tell much difference between the two so I think the 2k version is the best option.
