Good hardware, buggy firmware, still have high hopes

The display itself is awesome. DisplayCal shows me high 90's for P3 and Adobe RGB coverage (and much higher than for volume). Used as an SDR monitor with the backlight off, no complaints. BUT. There are a number of issues that we hope will be fixed in the firmware. * Enabling local dimming in SDR mode is possible but looks terrible on desktop and in static images. The midtones are bright but lack contrast. Light colors are so bright that they can blind the eyes and appear to cut off white. I…

So far very good: my rating

I've been waiting for a 4K monitor with a high refresh rate and a mini LED for a long time. Even Apple's recent Studio Display lacks a high refresh rate and mini-LED, but it costs $1,599 and includes a single video input. In comparison, the Tempest GP27U comes with all the latest features. Four inputs including one with USB-C (with 90W charging), 160Hz variable refresh rate, mini LED, quantum dot, IPS panel, HDR, high fidelity color, speakers, USB ports, etc. And the price? Currently $799, $800

Very happy with this mini led display

In a few months this review will be updated, positive or negative. Positive - INNOCOOL/CM was a pleasure to deal with. I had a problem with my order and they kept in touch with me all the time until it was solved. - Revain CS primarily caused a mess by promising that XYZ would happen in a few steps. They got it wrong every time, luckily a third party stepped in again and took care of it. - Ad - Looks great! I would compare getting a "real" HDR10 display from an Alienware UW SDR like DVD &gt…

Great monitor with some recent flaws

Coming from OLED this isn't for you, anything else? Great monitor and worth the $800 I spent. About the best you'll get until LG decides to release its 27-32 inch OLED panels. Downgraded one star due to currently not being able to use VRR + Dimming + HDR simultaneously, although this should be fixed. in an upcoming firmware update. Also, you can't use VRR at 160Hz, only at 144.

    Excellent quality in my opinion.

Had to wait some time to get it abroad. Overall quality is excellent, with virtually no backlighting, especially for this monitor, which is pretty rare for IPS monitors. The only problem is that when using HDR there is a green tint which is very annoying. You can change the colors using nvidia's color settings, but that's not ideal as those settings are retained when you switch back to non-HDR. There is also the problem that VRR cannot be used with HDR. It's not a problem for me, but options…

    Fantastic monitor: my review

I have previously used an Asus 1440P monitor and in comparison the contrast ratio on the Cooler Master is much better. When you turn on local dimming, it works wonders. It's not perfect, and you'll notice some flowering in darker games with bright highlights, but still, it's far better than any side-lit display. The monitor can get very bright, sometimes too bright for me, but it's nice to be able to turn it on when I need it, it can also get very dim, which is great for gaming in darker rooms.

Finally got frustrated... got my GP27Q monitor today and found it's broken and just flickering yay... Coolermaster definitely needs to work on the quality control.

Terrible local dimming, quality control issues?

I bought it as an upgrade for my trusty old Dell S2721DGF and returned it a few days later. While the HDR experience isn't bad, the SDR performance with and without local dimming is significantly worse than the monitor I've used before. I know the CM rep mentioned that there will be a firmware update coming out mid-November, but I'm not sure if it will fix any of the issues I was having. very bright, not afraid of fading. Cons: * Color bars are noticeably worse than my S2721DGF at the same…

Get the 4k version if available

I got the 1440p version of this display because I didn't need a 4k and the $200 less price made it an easy choice, but that's assuming all else is equal. But that's not the case. The biggest difference between the two models is that the 1440p version only has HDMI 2.0 while the 4k version has 2.1. So if you want to use the HDMI port with the 1440p model, you can only get up to 144Hz at 1440p and out of my test it's only 8-bit color (although HDR works). That means you can only use the…

    Very impressed: my rating

On a 43 inch 4k display all I can say is Wow, I'm impressed. I've been using 4k displays since 2016 and I can only say that you get 99% clarity with this display! It really is such a small difference in clarity that most people don't notice it. What anyone can tell now is the refresh rate. Out of the box it synced HDR 3440x1440 165Hz. From what I can see it should be a 144Hz panel that can run at 165Hz when overclocked, but I didn't have to overclock it, which was a bit of a surprise and…

I bought this as a gift for my wife because she plays both on PC and for herself. Both work very well and are super cute! The graphics are great to look at. so i love it The one I bought for my wife is about a year old and still works great. I recommend it. 10/10!

Lots of dead pixels in my opinion.

The tech was impressive, but this monitor was disappointing. found it at innocool for $1000 a few days later and bought one. The next day I saw it for $200 less. So I couldn't get Revain to adjust the price unless I sent the original back without the box, so I ordered a new one. Then a day later I got a new one. I think I found the cause of the $200 drop. Can we say that dead pixels are plentiful? I will be back tomorrow and will definitely not order again.

    Everything I wanted!

This is my first experience with Mini LED. Coming off the 2K IPS display, I am amazed at how amazing the display looks. The black color is super black and the colors are very bright. I was looking for a new monitor that would work well in a dark room and decided on this one. It's amazing and I highly recommend it. EDIT: Just want to add that my device has no dead pixels and no signs of poor quality control. I heard there will be a firmware update coming soon to fix a few different issues some…

incompatible product. Pixel errors on arrival and many other problems

I really wanted this monitor to be good. 500 for a 1440p monitor is really bad unless you're getting a 240hz refresh. I wanted to try it for all other benefits like HDR. Unfortunately, the product currently does not support HDR and adaptive sync. Over time there will be a firmware update that will resolve this issue. Once I was able to boot up the monitor, it was definitely good even without HDR enabled. Unfortunately, a pixel was stuck in the middle of the screen. I wanted to troubleshoot and…

I didn't think I would buy a Cooler Master monitor, but here it is

HDR with local dimming looks great, if not oversaturated. Others are right that White wins in this mode, and it's almost painful to watch. But SDR looks good. I had no dead pixels or glare. A firmware update is urgently needed. But at the same time I think it was a good buy, especially at the recently reduced price of $800.
