Review on Premium Black & Decker DCM100B Programmable Coffeemaker: 12-Cup Glass Carafe, Sleek Black Design by Nicolai Goler

Cheap. Crazy bright clock.

makes coffee. So everything is fine. But it feels rather cheaply constructed. All parts are made of thin, thin, weightless plastic. The moving parts don't seem to line up perfectly. The lid does not open and close smoothly; Sometimes it binds and you have to force it. The filter cup never feels right. It all weighs about half a kilogram. Just feels cheap. My main complaint is the insanely bright clock. They're bright red and absurdly bright. At night, they light up my entire kitchen. My eyes hurt during the day too. It's like a traffic light in my kitchen with no way to lower the intensity. And some genius thought it would be fun to turn the colon on and off 24/7, which makes it even more annoying. So just switch off, you could say. The problem is that when you plug it back in, the entire lightbar turns on and off until you set the time again. So you'll either have to reset the time every time you plug it in, or deal with the flashing red clock until you've finished your coffee. The light bar is so obnoxious it's a deal breaker for me.
