What a great purchase! for coffee makers

I know some people spend over $100 on a coffee maker but I don't know why. This inexpensive coffee maker makes delicious and hot coffee. If the carafe breaks, it's probably cheaper to buy a whole new coffee maker. Of course, it doesn't have all the "bells and whistles" of an expensive coffee, but it has everything we regular coffee drinkers could need. It has an automatic timer for those who like to make coffee before bed. In summary, this is a great coffee maker at a great price.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel

Stops working after 4 months

Worked great for the first 4 months. Now the basket doesn't detect the presence of the carafe, so if you don't watch it while brewing, it won't fall into the jug but will fall back into the water tank. We will endeavor to provide a replacement or compensation. Update: After my review was published, the manufacturer replaced all of these. Since then things have really got going! My original rating was only 1 star but I've increased it to 3 stars because the replacement is not a problem and I…

Auto brew function not working

It took me a long time to decide which coffee pot to buy after our previous carafe broke. I ended up going for this one because it was black and embellished, other reviews were good, it looked nice and cheap. Unfortunately, the software drink hasn't worked since we got it. I've tried several times, even last night my husband watched me do it to see if it was user error and this morning. No, the coffee isn't ready yet. Maybe it's a coincidence in this particular case, but I thought I should at…

Simple, light and makes a good cup.

This is a black 12 cup Decker coffee pot! Do I have to say more? Naturally. My personal issue with most coffee pots these days is that they all have this stupid auto shut off feature to save energy. Next to? Pretty well rounded. Makes a good cup of coffee. Something easy to clean. Easy to program. Biggest feature? Damn easy to use. The on/off button is just centered above the watch face and you simply insert the filter, add coffee grounds, add water on the back and press the on/off button. Did.

Barely warm and weak

Very disappointed with this model. We've had previous models and were generally very satisfied; However, the last block took less than a year (!). However, I decided to buy another B&D, mainly because I couldn't decide which other brand to try. Since the old model is no longer available, I decided on this one. If we hadn't thrown the box away, it would have come back! The coffee is barely warm and brews a rather weak cup of coffee! The first morning I thought it was my imagination, but the…

Don't buy cheap the best in kitchen and dining

We're simple coffee people. We bought another coffee maker a week before that didn't have an auto shut off so we bought this one (the other one is in the basement). We previously had a Black and Decker that finally broke after years of use and this was its replacement. Based on our previous experience we thought B&D would be a good bet, but you get what you pay for. Within 2 weeks the lid broke (see picture) and within 3 weeks the bring-a-cup function stopped working - thought we could live…

Brews coffee but has some issues - not recommended

Replace Mr. Coffee with this one. It works, programming is easy, auto shut off is what we needed. But nobody thought of using it before they sent the design to production. After brewing, when you open the lid to take out the filter basket, the water condensed on top drips down the back wall and onto the counter! Leaks at the front too. Fabulous! Old Mr. Coffee didn't have any of those problems. Too bad too as my other devices are B&D and they are fine. Update May 2021 - I'm tired of wiping…

Cheap. Crazy bright clock.

makes coffee. So everything is fine. But it feels rather cheaply constructed. All parts are made of thin, thin, weightless plastic. The moving parts don't seem to line up perfectly. The lid does not open and close smoothly; Sometimes it binds and you have to force it. The filter cup never feels right. It all weighs about half a kilogram. Just feels cheap. My main complaint is the insanely bright clock. They're bright red and absurdly bright. At night, they light up my entire kitchen. My eyes…

Black & Decker 12 Cup Programmable Coffee Maker (Model # DCM100B)

I've had this coffee maker for about a month which is plenty of time to learn all the good and bad about it. I have to give this coffee maker two thumbs up. I love it. I've read other comments about how noisy it is or that it doesn't keep the coffee hot after brewing etc but I haven't found those things to be true. Mine is quiet and keeps the coffee hot after brewing. It's easy to clean and I've found that I can brew almost 14 cups with this 12-cup coffee maker by pouring water down the rear…
