Review on LG 32UN880-B UltraFine 31.5" 4K Monitor - Tilt, Pivot, Height Adjustment, Connectivity by Erik Campbell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great 32 " monitor with very good mount

The first plus is that the advert for the mount is real. It's a very good ergonomic mount and it does the job perfectly. However, it can be a little tricky to attach the monitor to the mount when it's on your desk. I advise you to place the monitor on the bracket before attaching it and remember to leave a piece of cardboard on the bracket until the monitor is securely attached. Cable routing for assembly is also above, no complaints. The monitor itself is a very good frameless IPS screen, it has all the issues that any other IPS screen will have. Black can look dark gray in a dark room, white can't be quite pure white sometimes, corners can glow a little around the edges, etc. etc. ips monitor. However, black is beautifully black, white is beautifully white. In any case, I find this monitor too rich in contrast and saturated. I'm currently using it with an HDMI 2.1 cable, but may switch to the display port to see if there's a difference. My only major complaint is that the sharpness is pretty much useless. I can barely tell the difference between max and off. For now I can say this is a great monitor that does exactly what I paid for. 60 Hz refresh rate, 4k resolution, good color space, great mount and 32″ diagonal. I need to do more color calibration, but just a few minor standard tweaks brought it close to my ideal version. Those reporting that yellow is mostly white either lost the lottery on this model or just need to keep working on their settings. Any high-end monitor always needs to be tweaked out of the box, it's just the way it is. I will say that all color settings other than custom ones are basically useless as you lose control of all settings except brightness.
