Installed in 2 minutes and could have been quicker if my 2 1/2 year old hadn't helped! TEMPLATE INCLUDED - Measure 60" from floor to bottom of template, drill 3 pilot holes. Insert 2 screws into the main unit on the door, install locks (hook on the door) and screw to pinch test. I undid a latch first. Always snaps when door is closed, prevents door from opening AND closing again after opening so little fingers don't get pinched - easy release on either side of door (very important for us after 10 minutes of being locked out). Makes a lot of noise and our door is a hollow core that lets us know when someone tries to open it - a nice bonus. I was looking for a top lock as it was the only one I could open from the outside but VERY glad I found and bought it.
