Review on ๐Ÿท๏ธ Brother P-touch CUBE Plus PT-P710BT: Versatile Label Maker with Bluetooth Wireless Technology for Smart Labeling by Michael Mendoza

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent label printer; Everything gets a label.

I had my brother's old portable label printer which was big, clunky and awkward to use. After a few years of use, I was fed up and decided to buy a modern label printer. I bought the PT-1230PC and still use it occasionally. This is way ahead of the portable label printers, but it still has disadvantages; mainly the fact that the power supply is not included and that the cutter is manual and not automatic. The print quality isn't as crisp as the P710BT either. As I said, I still use it occasionally, mainly for temporary/short-term labels. I bought it because it fits a variety of tapes up to 24mm wide and has an automatic cutter. I use this strictly connected to my PC; no use of bluetooth/apps. I prefer the full p-touch editor. I use this amazing little printer mainly to create labels for power supplies and also to label equipment cases with all sizes of nuts, bolts, screws etc that I use. Just a micro USB cable from the printer to my computer. USB-C would be nice considering the price of this printer, but that's a minor issue. I like the shape and aesthetics of the printer; I prefer a simple design with soft edges and clean lines, so a simple cube printer with rounded corners and edges is perfect for me. No hard edges to grab to change label tape, which I do often. I really wish it was the blue color that the previous p-touch Cube comes in. Print quality is excellent; beautiful and sharp. I create all my labels in p-touch Editor software for PC, which is very easy. There are no complaints. As with all label printers, approximately 2.5 cm of waste is left at the beginning of each label. I minimize this by printing my labels on one long label and then using scissors to cut each label individually. So I only lose the first centimeter, not a centimeter with each label. I only buy original Brother TZe label tapes; I know there are many aftermarket tapes out there, I just prefer to use original tapes. If I have any problems the brother will be able to provide support/replacement. I mainly use strong tapes, specifically TZe-S221 (3/8" black print on white tape) and TZe-S135 (1/2" white print on clear tape). I will add some other colors. I really like the auto cutter. That alone makes this printer worth the asking price. In short, I am very satisfied with this printer. Unless it's offered in blue, in which case I'd buy another one along the way!
