Review on Cmple Ethernet Patch Cable for Networking by Ronald Bleimeyer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good construction; gets the job done

I ordered this cable to replace a dying 100ft Cat 5e cable. Installation was seamless (it's an ethernet cable after all - plug in both ends and you're done, it either works or it doesn't) and no problems. With the old cable, the host and switch could rarely negotiate a full gigabit connection; With this, we reliably observed gigabit connections in every test. The cable's outer jacket is soft and matte, not shiny and hard like most Ethernet cables I've come across over the years. It was easier to grab and manipulate as we routed the cable from the switch through the house to the target PC; A protective cap on each end prevents the connector's locking tab from bending or breaking, allowing it to function when needed. Pros: - Works as advertised (signaling briefly tested at 10 gigabit with no issues; normal operation for this cable for us was at gigabit, again no issues) - Soft, non-slip matte outer jacket protects cable and allows for easy twisting for knot and tangle free Storage - Cheaper than Monoprice (as of this writing; your mileage may vary) Cons: - Not as far

Pros
  • EASY TO CONNECT: Compatible with network adapters, hubs, switches, routers, DSL/Cable modems, patch panels and other high-performance network appliances. Cat6 cable is fully backwards compatible with Cat5e, Cat5 and Category 3 cables
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
