Review on πŸ’ Vancool Ring Size Adjuster Set - 18 Pieces (1.5mm/2mm/3mm) | Ideal for Loose Rings | Includes Ring Polishing Cloth by Summer Hendricks

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice but not as comfortable as an insole. (The rating compares 2 different products.)

This is a review and comparison of two different products: Vancool Ring Size Adjuster (18 pieces) (1.5mm/2mm/3mm) (this product) and Feramox Invisible Ring Size Adjuster in different sizes (https://amazon.com/gp/product/B07C15P2F7) I have a couple of rings that were too loose and kept spinning on my finger. I didn't want to resize them or they would be too tight to fit through my wrist, so I decided to try some ring sizing products to see how well they work. Bottom line: I generally prefer the Feramox type insert over the Vancool coil regulators for the look and feel, but it all comes down to your preference. Both styles can be worn after the ring is on your finger, so you don't have to worry about the ring getting on your knuckle. The main disadvantage of Feramox is that if you don't use glue (and maybe even if you do) and you can only use one size from the pack for a given item, they can fall off and get lost. Ring. The advantage of the spool type is that you can adjust the size of the ring a bit better by using thicker or thinner spools and they won't fall off. Detailed comparison: Feramox regulators sold by Freeman Direct in a pack of 8. different sizes, for tape widths from 1 mm to 10 mm. (They also sell pouches for wider rings, so be careful when ordering. If you're looking for calibrators for thin rings like solitaires, this is for you.) The kit also includes a silver polishing cloth and a piece of paper. Glue. Unfortunately, the product information sheet is enclosed with the adhesive sheet, so I didn't understand what it was at first. There was a blue and green card with Feramox product information on one side and a yellow backing on the other. The yellow backing was actually the backing for a piece of tape. I had to peel off the Feramox card by opening the instructions on how to use the tape on the other side. The tape has a transparent film on one side and a sheet of yellow paper on the other side. When separating, be sure to remove the Feramox card, leaving the clear film attached to the yellow film. Do not tear off the yellow sheet. If you want to use glue, cut a piece of tape to fit the groove in the adjustment ring. Peel off the yellow paper and stick the glue on the controller, then peel off the transparent film. I probably won't use tape because with the gauge taped to the ring I probably won't be able to get the ring onto my knuckle. Instead I will try to put it on by simply re-sizing after the ring is on my finger. I have to be careful not to lose it when I take the rings off, but I think it will probably work better for me and none of the rings I use it with are worn on a daily basis. I found a size that fits a 5.7mm gold band perfectly. The smallest size snapped onto the 2.16mm wide ring and stayed in place. With 1.25mm and 1.83mm rings, the smallest size doesn't stay on the ring by itself, but it seems to work well if I put it on once the ring is on my finger. Once attached, they are almost invisible. The size is barely noticeable when I look at my palm and I don't feel anything out of the ordinary except that the ring appears a bit thicker. This works great for keeping the stone on my finger where it needs to be instead of sliding around. Unfortunately you will have to buy a pack of 8 different sizes when you may only need one or two sizes. I wish they only had a certain size packets then I wouldn't worry about losing one. On the other hand I was able to use 3 sizes in this pack and since I won't be using tape to stick them to the rings I can move the smallest size between rings that need it. You can use a size that is slightly wider than the band, so the two smallest sizes fit three different ring sizes. One more note, when trying to put the rings on/off on my finger with the insert inserted, I found it a bit more difficult than using the coil type. Maybe it's because the spool rolls on the ring and helps the ring roll on the finger. So if you snap the insert, it can be a problem. Vancool Controller: This product was sold by Nest My Life. It comes with 18 adjusters (6 turns of 1.5mm, 2mm and 3mm) and also includes a polishing cloth. The adjusters are easy to use, simply wrap your desired size around the ring and cut to desired length. I looked at many similar products but bought this one because it contained the smallest coils (down to 1.5mm). Most other packages were not under 3mm. Smaller coils look much better on a thin ring. Pro regulators the coils are so you can use the thickness that gives the best fit and you don't have to worry about them falling off the ring. It doesn't really matter if you need to replace them. Because the coils wrap around the ring, you don't have to worry about them falling off. I also found that spool adjustment rings were easier to slip over my ankle than insert adjustment rings because the spools rolled and helped the ring move. But if you have trouble getting the ring onto your knuckle, you can put the coil on while the ring is on your finger. The downside is that they're much more visible than inserts and a little less comfortable. They also seem to slip around the ring which hasn't been a problem in stakes.

Pros
  • Three different sizes. Each size comes with 6 pieces. Almost suitable for all types of rings.
Cons
  • So far so good
