Review on JBL Splashproof Portable Bluetooth Speaker by Julie Serrano

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Great at first, dude really bad

I loved the JBL Flip 3 when I first bought it. I put it in a bottle holder on my bike for leisurely rides and also packed it in my luggage when traveling. It sounded great and lasted around 8 hours on a single charge. After about a year of occasional use, the battery life started to decrease. Around the same time I started hearing distortion at high volumes. A little annoying, but not the end of the world. After about a year and a half it was almost unusable. At high volume, I hear annoying clicks and, despite being fully charged, the speaker turns itself off after about 30 minutes. I can't rely on it for a short city trip, let alone a day trip or weekend trip. I take good care of my electronics and have been using them for years but I haven't even gotten 2 Flip 3's. I expected more for $95.
