I've been wishing for that for so long! We have 6 children, all play sports and sometimes their uniforms and training clothes are not washed immediately (e.g. sitting in the sports locker room at school). I tried with a bucket, didn't work. It is currently in my sink but I think it should be moved. The thing is solid and adjustable to a degree. I tried adjusting it with more clearance to let the thicker item through and well the washers and nuts were flying all over the place. After putting it back together, I don't "open" it as much anymore. It seems quite heavy, but there isn't much wiggle room for thicker or larger items. And you definitely need a stronger base as the object itself is quite heavy and then there are wet clothes and turning. You will get an image.
