This was just the thing for my 2012 x5. The valve cover costs over $500. BMW welds PVC to the valve cover. You will need to use a dremel tool to score the pvc plastic cap and a hair dryer to soften the plastic to remove it from the valve cap. Do not cut open the valve cover or you will have to have it repaired or pay for a new one. It takes patience and some basic knowledge. It needs to be glued to install. Youtube like video for this repair before you start. Tip: Don't forget that there is a small spring under the lid. Pay attention to the orientation when removing the cap and remember to put it back before sticking the cap back on. Top $15 + epoxy + dremel cutting wheels and a new vacuum hose that got damaged in the process. Probably spent $40-$50 but that awful squeak is gone and the X5 works better.
