The instructions were very difficult to read and the diagram is not entirely clear (but I relied more on the diagram and lid on the box) to figure out how to put it together - that's me not much of a mechanic so most of you shouldn't be a problem at all. It ensures low flow in my saltwater aquarium. The only criticism is that the cable is too short. should get out and go to one of my freshwater tanks where the fish are enjoying the circulation. I am using the Biocube now and its stand and tank are taller than any of my other tanks so the cable length might be perfect for your tank. Once I "understood" it in terms of assembly, it was assembled in minutes. It is fully submersible and completely silent. The review asked about "suction power" which I couldn't answer as that's not the main thing with this fan.
