I bought these baluns to connect my new 4K UHD Blu-ray player and QLED TV (both Samsung). This is my first home theater purchase in 8 years so I had to learn all the current standards and protocols. The display is 1080p but when I tried to connect to the QLED the input wasn't recognized. Given the option of calling Samsung or J-Tech support, I didn't like the idea of boarding a giant Samsung machine, so I started with J-Tech. I wasn't disappointed! I immediately spoke to a technician who was able to quickly and accurately diagnose my problem based on my description of the symptoms alone. QLED first tried to negotiate a resolution of 4K and HDR (4:4:4 chroma), which required 18GB of bandwidth. This particular set of baluns was not designed to those specs, and my ignorance (and willingness to spend $120 instead of $250!) led me to believe they would do the job. As a test, experts recommended lowering the Blu-ray player's image transmission settings. I did just that, and voila, the picture displayed perfectly on my QLED TV. As if an accurate diagnosis wasn't enough, the technician demonstrated his desire to provide excellent customer service by offering a set of baluns from another brand at a lower price. than the J-Tech version. He made it clear he couldn't vouch for the quality but was still willing to make an offer to save me some money. In the end, his honesty and fantastic customer service combined with hundreds of great J-Tech reviews made me bite the bullet and upgrade my baluns with J-Tech. If you have upgrades and invested in the highest resolution and features, you know that not all baluns are created equal! Spend the extra cash and make sure it supports all the features you need. Otherwise you do the same thing as buying a Maserati but put 4 spare tires on it. I highly recommend J Tech!
