I've been using one of these flexible aluminum poles as a tablet mount for years and it's been a huge improvement. More stable, less springy. Long-term use remains to be seen. I use this for the Samsung Galaxy A 10. The grip has small pads in the claws that hold the tablet well, but I have some tablet holders from my old tablet so it falls out and hits my face. Useful for reading books, watching YouTube in bed to fall asleep. It also folds nicely to keep your tablet out of the way. The bracket is pretty solid but I use pre-drilled holes in the header instead of the bracket but this is a unique case. For added stability, lightly tighten the remaining screws on each joint with a socket wrench. I had to loosen them to fit the gripper bar, so I just went up the line. The secret ingredient in bed is the double ball joint. I will admit that one of the ball joints is a little weaker than I would like. Over the years I have had several different brackets in this style for architectural style lamps and was always curious what the addition of a third section would do. To be honest this mount seems to be the most durable I've ever owned and could serve as a base for it. For those who have never used them, I must warn you that there are some basic hand limitations: placement is usually such that the end point is along an arc centered on another arc. For example, it cannot fall straight down when the base bar is vertical. I love the white aesthetic, I'm tired of all the electronics and accessories in a single shade that turns the routed cable into a dark cavernous look. I will update this. Review if any big issues come up, but for now I'm quite happy with it.
