We ordered this LED ring to replace our old fluorescent ring which is used to see fine detail and improve microscope illumination. The product is very thin and if you are not careful you may damage it during installation. The intensity of the light can be adjusted from very weak to quite strong, but since the ring diameter is very small compared to similar emitters, this leads to uneven results and strong vignetting. The included ring adapter is a poorly made piece of plastic that makes it almost impossible to attach the ring to the microscope accurately, and then you end up with a tilted light source that creates unwanted shadows and crazy color changes. when shooting. If you just need basic lighting for your microscope and are on a tight budget, this product can work; but I strongly recommend that you look for other alternatives. You're sure to find much better products that don't cost much more.
