- Made in China - 3 AAA batteries - 500# accuracy It turns on by stepping on it and it starts up fairly quickly. That seems correct and we made it to 442 with my husband, two dogs and my right leg so the 500# claim is probably fair. However, I have a few problems with it.1. They claim that the upper is non-slip, I assume because the graphic is slightly raised. However, this template does nothing. This glass surface is still very slippery when still wet from a shower. Be careful.2. The gauge shown in the printout has black numbers, but the scale actually shows them in white. On a light gray background is not very visible.3. The display does not light up for a long time. I don't want to take my glasses into the bathroom. I don't wear them at home and keep them in the office. My current scale holds the reading long enough for me to step off the scale and lean down a bit to see it clearly. It's not like this. It may take 5 seconds, but whatever the real time is, it's too short. So it's not for me.
