Update: I contacted the company representative and she shared her experience. They immediately sent me a new replacement. After getting it, one of the two I tried worked without any issues. My original 3 stars have been changed to 5 because of the overall service. Previous review: I could have gotten a bad one but after 2 uses the darker brown of the two cracked while making the bun. The lighter one still works, but it's a bit lighter for my hair color, so I don't use it often.
