Review on 🚽 Oatey 42255 Closet Flange: 4-Inch Cast Iron - Durable and Reliable Plumbing Solution by Jim Moody

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Real problem solving

I had to replace the flange in the toilet with a 4 inch iron pipe that was higher than the floor so the plastic insert didn't work without cutting the pipe. The old flange was also oversized so when removed there was no floor material to attach the new flange to. This thing installed in a few minutes and wrapped very tightly around the pipe and didn't need to be bolted to the ground. The toilet doesn't move at all. The first check that said it wouldn't tighten either didn't have a 4" pipe or it was installed incorrectly. Face the thin edge rubber gasket up, then insert a gold ring with the flat side up, unscrew 4 screws and you're done. I used screw-on threadlock as a precaution, but I doubt that was necessary, just extra insurance. I could not find this flange in any of the major department or hardware stores in Mpls/St. Pavel, very glad I found it here and the price was not much different from all plastic flanges. This flange turned a project into an easy task.
