As said before, this is different from the OEM intake. But change isn't always bad, and removal and installation went very well on my '99 Silverado with 5.3 engine. The only downside I would like to report is that the 10 screw tightening sequence when installing is not visible to my eyes. and I didn't bother to look at it beforehand. I cleaned the block and heads. with a vacuum cleaner and a blade to have a clean surface and not drop anything into the engine. That would be bad as everything is exposed and sand and dirt can damage things. I also used a mass air flow sensor cleaning spray to remove the oil film and debris. Once cleaned it was an easy installation process, although you do need to make sure everything is plugged in where it needs to be. No additional pads were required. I've driven 3,000 miles and even he purrs like a kitten. Although I drove over 200,000 km a few days ago.
