This is a super quiet DVD-RW with excellent performance. However, it includes a software disc which should not be used under any circumstances. Unless you're desperately trying to install malware. If you read critical reviews on the manufacturer's own website, you know that the software disk is intentionally corrupted to help the "free" software provider make a profit. I checked the drive with Bitdefender which seemed to only check for viruses and it passed. However, with the help of Malwarebites, it found extremely malicious invasive malware in all contained files. Use washer, cable, screws. But if you want to keep your computer, put the software CD in the shredder like I did.
