    Small but powerful for computer components

    The DVD player is not very big (his photo is there for reference) but I use it almost continuously since I received it and has so far it gave me no hiccups. When I first used it I was a little confused/concerned because when I plugged it into my computer's USB port a message appeared saying the country code needed to be changed and that I could only change it 4 times (not once). Problem as I'm not used to watching movies encoded for other countries lol). I have a terrible internet connection so

    Great purchase and practicality

    What can I say except that it works great and costs about 20 €. It works like any other pre-installed laptop drive and can be stored separately when not in use. Any laptop I buy in the future will not have to pay for a preloaded laptop. And I already had an old label program that I would otherwise have had to buy back with an expensive download. That alone would be double the cost of the disc.

    Doesn't work at all. Another piece of cheap Chinese junk!

    The drive is recognized by Windows and Linux, but does NOT read any type of drive inserted. Rotates up and down while the disc is in the drive. Do yourself a favor and spend another $5 on something that might work. UPDATE: After a second search, almost every $14-$30 drive turns out to be exactly the same cheap device with rebranding and minor top case changes. Check out the underside of any of them and they are identical. About 7 out of 100 are defective. Check the reviews - YMMV

    Does not play discs. May not work at all (DVD not tried)

    Dunno about DVD but this page says it plays CDs. It is not. The only reason I bought it was to burn music from CDs onto my computer. Now I have to worry about sending that back, getting a refund, finding a new product that actually does what it's supposed to do, and then waiting for the new product to arrive. I don't appreciate any of that. I guess I'll just buy something at a regular store I have to go to so I don't have to worry about getting another Frankenstein ghetto monster in the form of

    Works Optical drives

    When I bought my new laptop I forgot to look for a DVD drive. I'm an old man and used to having it on every computer. But my new Lenovo didn't and I needed a DVD drive to boot TurboTax so I bought it hoping it would be used sometime. He worked like a master, connecting immediately after connecting and transferring the program in seconds or maybe minutes. Very important

    If you have a laptop and don't have a CD/DVD drive and you buy one, be prepared. It doesn't work properly. I'm so disappointed that i figured i could just plug it into my laptop put in a dvd and my video pops up forget it it doesnt work that easy i wish i could get it back just made old movies on dvd and cant even show them :-(

    worked twice fine for external components

    I had the same and it worked about a year and then the door wouldn't open. This has rotated the drive twice and no longer works. Not worth sending back for 20€, I just want a working one. Maybe I should just buy the most expensive in this style. They are very comfortable. My last one might have had to turn upside down or sit on its edge to play certain discs, but it worked.

    I found the attached USB cable a bit short, but it was probably made to sit next to a laptop after all. However, if the cable were longer, it could be better used as a desktop backup drive.

    Easy to use and works great

    I received this a few days ago and have already copied a few CDs onto my laptop. This worked exactly as expected. No questions. Ease of use with Windows Media Player. The price is good and has put me off buying music I already owned from the App Store again.

    If you have a laptop and don't have a CD/DVD drive and buy this one get ready. It's not working as expected. I'm disappointed as much as I am "I thought I could just plug it into my laptop, put in a DVD and my video would appear. Forget it. It doesn't work that easy. I wish I could get it back. It's just so old movies converted to DVDs and I can't even show it :-(
