The quality is at the highest level, be sure to try it.

Bought a few months ago. It is very easy to connect to any computer via USB cable. Reads all discs that are declared by the manufacturer. You can always take a very convenient device with you and connect it to any computer to burn a disc or install Windows. No socket or power supply is needed, the device is powered by a USB cable.

    Pros
    • Material quality, build quality. Brand. read speed and write speed. Reliability.
    Cons
    • They are not available for this model.

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality is at the level, I am satisfied with everything.

I honestly don’t know much from ASUS, and therefore I bought based on the feedback of others that whoever writes and then I make my conclusion whether to take it or not, if they write more good than bad, then I buy it, and if there is a lot of good stuff on the turnover, and a lot of it, then I try not to take it. I bought speakers for the computer, an external HDD and SSD for installing the operating system.

    Pros
    • I bought an asus on 08/13/2022 it works fine no owls
    Cons
    • I've been using it for about half a year, I haven't found any affluence

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

I definitely recommend buying, I didnt notice any disadvantages.

Different pros: Works. For some reason, manufacturers still supply drivers for motherboards, etc. on disks, so the thing is sometimes needed. With its cons. The disc is put on the central holder a bit tight. For some reason, it is made in a "foppish" design, although in general it gives the impression of a budget item, which it is.

All is well, liked the product, didn't buy it for nothing.

I bought this drive for recording games on Sony Playstation 2. I recorded more than 1000 discs on it and after a year and a half it died. Worked fine, no major problems. The wires are short and so on a solid 4-ku

    Pros
    • The price was low at the time of purchase.
    Cons
    • Short wires, short service life.

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

The right product for me, there were no problems.

Has pros: I bought an external DVD-Rom, because. the built-in one on the laptop broke down, where I now plan to put an SSD for the operating system. They say that DVD-ROMs are no longer relevant, although there is an opinion that storing information on laser discs is more reliable than on a hard drive. Regarding the model: I liked the appearance and ease of installation. More precisely connected to the USB input and work). I burned a test DVD, everything was recorded and it starts without probl

Best product I have ever reviewed, I recommend it to everyone!

I connected it to USB3 and USB2. There was enough food from one "tail". It is possible that laptops will not pull out for recording, but stationary computers even pull ports on the front panel with a bang. I tried using this drive to burn discs from UDF to an old CD + RW disc. The files were written quite slowly due to the limitations of the disc itself, but they were read with a bang. The drive coped well with a recorded CD-R that was about 8 years old. There were no problems with the DVD…

    Pros
    • Presentable look. Omnivorous. Rubber feet. Convenient Eject button.
    Cons
    • Very easily soiled and scratched case.

The product suited me, I will recommend it to my friends.

He does his job completely. Considering that built-in DVD drives in computers will become increasingly rare (mine, for example, does not), I am very glad that I bought it. I still have a lot of CDs and DVDs, so this will definitely come in handy. Well, the fact that you have to handle it more carefully is an insignificant cost of a low price. With its pros. He works! I immediately connected to the USB connector and correctly identified on my Windos7, no additional drivers were required and no…

    1. Works only when connected via two USB (double-head cable included). And I also had to select these two USBs by typing - apparently some pairs of connectors in my computer are connected to one USB port, and it was overloaded. 2. I have an old 8 year old desktop computer. The Toshiba drive installed in it from birth is still alive, but it is CD-RW and buzzes like an airplane on takeoff. 3. Bought about 4 years ago, the NEC DVD-RW worked great, writing and reading literally everything that…

    Pros
    • 1. Works quietly (in the sense it does not make noise). Against the background of ordinary household sounds, it can even be considered completely silent.
    Cons
    • 1. The impression was made that it is extremely exacting to quality of disks. Moreover, only the Taiwanese spirit knows what quality he needs discs. Sometimes it refuses to see discs that are normally read by other devices, such as a home music center. I was especially surprised by the fact that while reading normally one of the DVD-RW discs, it stubbornly refused to clear it: for some reason, it periodically lost it. I managed to clear this disk from the 4th or 5th time (I had to mess around late in the evening, when all the shops were already closed), even some kind of excitement appeared - will I erase it or not? And after that, I normally made a recording on the long-suffering disk. 2. Contrary to the instructions that say it is compatible with Windows XP SP2, it practically refused to work until I installed the Power2Go program from the supplied CD. Moreover, Autosetup gave an error message and was interrupted. The branded disc was opened from the second time! I found setup in the directory and ran it manually - during the installation process I got error messages a couple of times. As a result, he earned, he writes new discs from the store. But it's far from plug-and-play. 3. It also comes with a proprietary program from ASUS, which calculates how many kW of electricity and how many trees are saved, thanks to the use of this wonderful device. How many of them are burned for nothing because of the clumsiness of the drive, there is no calculation.

The price/quality ratio is great, I will buy again.

cable trouble because of which you have to sacrifice the mouse. I have only 3 sockets, one has a mouse, the second one has a stand for cooling the laptop. There is a nuance I bought the drive in France, maybe this explains the fact that my review is different from the previous one, despite the fact that the price tag hung at 49 euros, they struck 15 at the checkout, I have no idea why, maybe some kind of discount)))

    Pros
    • Quiet, fast, beautiful, works on XP, which, according to the idea, should have died. it was installed back in 2022, it reads everything except vinyl, although it’s not a fact, I didn’t check it)))
    Cons
    • I still have one, it's a two-headed cable.

    Revainrating 2 out of 5

The product is definitely not worth the nerve, better not take it.

I do not recommend this model to anyone. It is not clear by what criteria it determines whether a disc is good or not. Bought two identical blank disks. He writes 1 disk with errors, the second does not want to write at all, he writes like a bad disk. Some problems from this device. Refuses to open burnt discs. In this case, the disk opens without problems on another device instantly.

    Pros
    • Beautiful (I have white)
    Cons
    • - Does not read 30% of new/recorded discs. - Recording discs 50 to 50: It will either record normally, or with an error.

Good product, needs 2 USB ports, quite noisy

Works well. I had to download a program to watch movies. Requires 2 USB ports to connect. It makes a lot of noise during operation (see video).

Poor quality - Fall apart after 10-20 uses in 3 months

The lid of the product fell off after a little use 3 months after purchase. We ripped CDs in iTunes and luckily we were able to eject the disc before the front flap fell off. The first one fell apart even with little use and I was stupid to buy the product a second time. Never again - looking for another brand. Obviously this product has quality defects. Should last more than 10-20 uses.

    Pros
    • Brilliantly made
    Cons
    • Some small things

    Simple, beautiful, Asus rarely disappoints

I'm an Asus fan, but not to the point where I can't ignore their shortcomings. I recently had to return a laptop from them which turned out to be quite a setback, but most of the time they make some pretty great components. What I like most about this optical drive is its flexibility and ease of use. To me, one of the worst things you can experience when using an optical drive is the need to install drivers in order to use it. If you don't know, that means that if you need to install an…

serial number removed! Normally my computer detects something external as soon as it connects to the network. Not this Asus External Slim 8X DVD-RW Stylish Cut Design optical drive. Nothing. I couldn't even find it on my devices like it wasn't there. When I couldn't even install this on my ASUS computer, I went online and watched a YouTube video of a man demonstrating how to install this DVD drive. The man took it out of the box and looked it up and down. I also looked at the bottom and noticed

    Cons

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

    Good value for money

Does what it says on the tin. Easy to use, DVD reads great. I had a few hiccups at first, but I soon found that I had to clean the DVD surface once in order for it to read properly. Great price compared to other well-known brands of DVD recorders. Haven't tried burning DVDs yet, just ripped some DVDs I had. To be clear, this DVD drive does not work directly with a TV or Android box, you must connect it to your computer to use it. It comes with a cable with two USB ports, but there is no need to

    Revainrating 4 out of 5

I almost threw it out the door. . .

I didn't know you could buy burners and connect them yourself or that they were so compact. It's like a little jewelry box. I thought it was difficult and only a technician can do it! I love this Asus DVD burner, at least that's what I use it for. It was sent promptly. Very easy to set up. I use both USB sticks connected with a "Y" shaped cable. It took me 5 broken DVDs to admit that my Windows 7 DVD Maker was not working as it should. I called support and they told me what to do but…

Good external drive, but the laser reader is fragile.

In general, the drive works fine. However, a sensitive/weak laser reader must be present when reading discs that are not in the best condition. I was trying to watch an old DVD with good wear. It read the disc but had a very poor picture during playback. Half of the screen was green and occasionally blinking green, while the other half worked but also looked awful. Sound was reproduced well. The DVD wasn't in the best condition, but my other DVD players had no problem playing it. It worked as…

It works out? No, thanks to me it is!

I connected both USB ports to my Asus K55N laptop, WIN 8, 64-bit with (3) USB 3.0 and nothing happened. Well, power appeared and then turned off and that was it. I installed the software from the internal drive and still nothing. It shows up in Device Manager but nowhere else (computer). My USB ports are working fine. Moment. As I type, I decide to wiggle the connections to see if anything happens, and the connection on the back of the drive hasn't come loose. Drive turned on and off. Hm. I…
