I connected it to USB3 and USB2. There was enough food from one "tail". It is possible that laptops will not pull out for recording, but stationary computers even pull ports on the front panel with a bang. I tried using this drive to burn discs from UDF to an old CD + RW disc. The files were written quite slowly due to the limitations of the disc itself, but they were read with a bang. The drive coped well with a recorded CD-R that was about 8 years old. There were no problems with the DVD either. Stamped discs are read without speed reduction at all, if there are no scratches on the surface.
