Review on PGN 6004 2RS Sealed Ball Bearing: Superior Power Transmission Solution by Adam Rogers

Not suitable for snowmobile bogies and idler wheels

These bearings didn't even last a season on a snowmobile. After only 300 miles, a few bearings stuck and the rest were dry and noisy. I removed the seals and the cage and the balls were full of moisture and rust. I removed the seals on a new one and there is a minimal amount of lubrication. Rubber gaskets don't seal water well enough. For snowmobile bogies and idler bearings, I highly recommend NTN Formula 6004-1B Snowmobile, which is filled with the optimal amount of low-temperature synthetic grease and seals that don't leak.

Pros
  • 100% chrome steel for strength and durability
Cons
  • Can't remember what happened
