Now that CRT TVs are gone, the opening above the fireplace has become a decorating issue. This mount worked great. I made a hole set back about an inch to give the wall mount a little room to pull in. Instead of 2X4 on the binding points, I used 4X4 for better support. I managed to install a computer, cable box and fan in the hole behind the TV. The fan is connected to a Lux WIN100 programmable outlet thermostat for heating and cooling (also available through Revain). The outlet thermostat is set at 85F and works great to keep my gear cool when the fireplace is on. The mount allows me to pull out the TV and rotate it to view it from the dining room. This feature also made it easy to install the unit behind the TV and run all the cables!
