First off, these are great shorts. I would love to wear them at home or at the gym, running or cycling. I would be comfortable in it on a hot summer day (I'm a photographer and I would easily shoot cityscapes without feeling like I'm trying to cause a scandal in the area). However, they do come down to about mid-thigh on me with an inseam of about 4 inches, slightly longer if allowed to sit lower on the hips. I'm 5ft 3in, 117lbs, I'm muscular but lean so they won't be skin tight. If you have wider legs you will probably find them quite tight and probably more like a second pair. underwear than me. The pockets are small but fit my 6 x 3 x 0.25 inch phone with a protruding corner and fit snug enough to keep the phone in place. Not uncomfortable at all. Only front pockets, no back pockets.
