Review on Lemonbest Panel Square Ceiling Downlight by Andres Callahan

Revainrating 3 out of 5

An economical replacement for older downlights, but not as good as it could be.

This is a niche product that I was very excited about! We have an old house with built-in lights. Most of them are located under the air ducts, so it is not possible to install anything else after the fact. This light is very thin and attaches to the drywall so these problems are solved. Unfortunately, this device does not cope with two tasks. The first thing, and I should have learned this from other Lemonbest products I've bought with the same problem, is that the light flickers. Some people don't realize it, but it drives me insane. The second question is really picky of me, but it would have made this purchase a lot better. Since this is a niche product that caters to specific needs, it could use a bit more. Removing an old fastener is a real pain and it's almost impossible to do without damaging the edges of the drywall. With that in mind, if Lemonbest could make the bezel of this light about 1/2 inch wider all the way around it would really look cleaner. On the other hand, this light is very easy to install (we are 2 minutes away) and very, very bright. Maybe too bright for some applications. I was really hoping to buy a bunch of these to replace all the square recessed lights in my old house, but it's not enough. Too bad, because there really aren't any other ways to completely replace LEDs.

Pros
  • Energy Saving; External dimensions: 225*225*15mm (L*W*H); Open hole: 200*200mm/8inch(L*W)
Cons
