Review on LG 32UL500-W Display - FreeSync Compatible 31.5" 4K UHD, Wall Mountable, 32UL500W, HD by Logan Fisk

Works well for Macbook, just needs some tweaking.

I used this monitor with my MacBook Pro 2018 and increased the workspace available. I was using a DisplayPort connection which should have given me enough bandwidth. But initially it couldn't look right, dark colors were very washed out and almost every monitor setting was turned off. However, I managed to figure out how to get it to work properly on a Mac. So if you have similar problem, you can try this. If you go to the display settings on the Mac, you need to disable "High Dynamic Range" for the monitor. This activates the monitor settings, gives you many preset modes and also allows you to tweak the settings. After playing around with it, I was able to make the image look really good. I also set the display to scale and max space. Also make sure the cable you are using has the bandwidth to transmit 4k. Not all HDMIs can handle 4k. It took me a few hours to figure this out as LG doesn't provide any helpful information on how to get this monitor working on a Mac. There are no software or driver downloads for this monitor, leaving you with a useless software manual. Now that I've figured out this monitor, it suits me perfectly, but LG needs to provide better troubleshooting for its customers.
