Just installed this on my 18 year old JK in the last few days. I live about 25 miles from the subway and haven't noticed any difference in reception. If you're wondering which way to point the tip of the antenna, the answer is: it's up to you. Turn the antenna all the way around and whatever it is, so be it. You can probably do about a half turn while still tight but before you break anything. The few parts that require twisting are a bit odd, but that's probably due to the multi-car fitment. But in the end everything looks fine. There is no nut to tighten or loosen, so you have to hold onto the rubber part of the antenna to get enough grip to screw it in. I hope I can drop it off when the time comes. Although maybe it would be possible to grab it with a thick rubber band and pliers without scratching everything. And I understand why the car was left alone. Its height is enough to reach the top of the hood. The car wash brushes would have to work really hard to grab it. Car washed once, no problems. My factory antenna was sticking out almost to the side of the sink and last time the car was bent about 30 degrees. At the moment I recommend it. I have 2 other Wranglers and will probably buy one for both for the rest of the muddy Minnesota car wash season.
