As described in parts

Works as described. As mentioned, the reception is not as good as with the original factory antennas (only one transmitter is blurred in places - not bad at all). Four stars for that, not five. Otherwise all the other stations are doing great and this is a much more practical antenna for a car wash. Looks great too!

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Very expensive

Exactly as advertised

I put this on a 2017 F150 And I also have a car wash membership through the tunnel. I wash 3-4 times a week, there are no problems with the antenna. I bought this antenna because it was advertised as car wash safe and it did not disappoint. I know washing is an overstatement, but my computer bought me a black truck and I always think of it as dirty.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • There are new competitors

HORRIBLE LIGHT & ELECTRIC RECEPTION

I bought a short antenna because our car wash switched to giant brushes that destroy Toyota antennas. I removed the bearing, bought and installed this. WOW! Big mistake. The reception is terrible. I live 12 miles from Sacramento, even that distance is too far for this piece of junk. Poor reception, hoarse speech and music. Luckily I didn't throw away my old one. I got ripped off!

  • Weight
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Car Wash Proof-False

So I was looking for a short replacement antenna for my truck. Wanted to buy a cheaper 7" but saw it was meant for a car wash. Lie. Installed and I like the look and functionality. Went through my first car wash and it's bent like hell and I have a feeling mine entire antenna assembly is now loose do not buy this if you plan to use a car wash very annoying and I knew better but the title won me over.

Pros
  • Sleek Design
Cons
  • Nothing

Reliable for car wash, stylish, good reception

I'm looking for a strong, stylish antenna that I can carry through an automatic car wash. The car wash I use has a pretty heavy duty octopus washcloth and it clogged my standard antenna. I've been through the wash dozens of times and this new antenna didn't seem to fit. It will take a few days to get used to the low profile. Radio reception seems good even though I'm in an urban/suburban area.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Something different

Not car wash proof!

Never wash. I've had this antenna for a little over 3 months. Looks good, picks up as well as the factory antenna and is easy to install. Those are the benefits. Cons - it breaks, breaks off immediately (you can see in the photo), this is the result of driving through a car wash, and the manufacturer declares that "wash the car or not". If you buy it, remove it every time you wash your car. I would recommend going with something else

Pros
  • An absolute legend

Exactly what I was looking for

I've had it for 24 hours so my rating is for the first collection and installation. AM seems to have deteriorated, although it wasn't great at first. FM is clear and no different than my standard huge antenna. Installation no longer than 5 minutes. Once you can unscrew the old one and screw on the new one, it's done. Good looking, low profile. Haven't tested it in a car wash yet but feels very safe and sturdy enough that I don't expect any issues.

Pros
  • hands free
Cons
  • security

Looks great! on lighting and electrical

It is very easy to install. It doesn't look cheap. I took it home after receiving it in the mail and reception at all my regular stations is as good as the factory. I bought it to avoid hitting and trimming the garage door box. At some point I was about to rip the factory antenna off the truck. This thing is almost perfect, except I couldn't get it to point all the way forward at an angle to the front of the truck when fully tightened. It's a little out of the way but I can live with that.

Pros
  • lighting and electrical
Cons
  • unreliable

Looks good on my 15ft Ram Ecodiesel. The sound quality is good.

later So of course the only thing you want to know is if you can reach stations. The answer is yes, but not so crystal clear. If you live in a city that also has a train station, I doubt you'll have any problems. I live in North San Antonio and regularly visit the camp in South Austin (50 miles). I can hear my station perfectly all the time, but when I get to my warehouse and drive between the tin buildings, it's kind of an accident. I can literally move my truck forward 6 inches and get full…

Nice little antenna

Just installed this on my 18 year old JK in the last few days. I live about 25 miles from the subway and haven't noticed any difference in reception. If you're wondering which way to point the tip of the antenna, the answer is: it's up to you. Turn the antenna all the way around and whatever it is, so be it. You can probably do about a half turn while still tight but before you break anything. The few parts that require twisting are a bit odd, but that's probably due to the multi-car fitment…

  • Electrical
Cons
  • Only available in white
