Does 3M tape cut less?

This product is a little sketchy but still what I wanted. The core of the tape shows that it is 3M removable tape, but it appears to have been cut to smaller sizes from a thicker roll. It is not sold under the 3M brand. seems a bit strange. However, it is perfect for what I wanted (watercolor patterns). I can very easily create a grid with white lines between the paint colors!
