This product is great as long as it works. I had it a little less than a year. The cord/plug is EXTREMELY hot when I use it now so I'm afraid to use it now. I've used other electrical devices in the outlet, so I know it's not the outlet. Also, the drip tray seems to have melted (it's on the back of the unit) so I can't remove it to clean it. Bought the extended warranty. have contacted her They said it looks like Cuinsart is still under warranty. I've been trying to reach her for a week (I can't wait all day for someone to answer the phone). Result. I would have to pay $10 to have a new device shipped to me and I would also have to pay the shipping cost to return the defective device. I've never heard anything so funny. I will NEVER buy another Cuisinart product.
