The thing is perfect! Our 2 year old loves it! It also fits very well on my trackback with very little space above the headset. If you have a bike (like a road bike) with very few spacers above the head tube and a perfectly flat top tube, the D-ring will hang down on the locking pin and hit the top tube. I had to get a small M3 bolt and nylock nut to replace the D-ring/bolt. I used a small zip tie and just cut it off after every ride for a few days and that worked too. This part is not stressed, it just keeps it from sliding back and forth or detaching from the mounting post. The mount itself is very simple and durable. The tool is stored under the crossbar/steering wheel in case you need it. I wouldn't worry at all about my son falling or the mount breaking. The top view here shows a broken bracket with some porosity in the casting. I can't imagine they still have this problem after making so many of them for so long. I will update this review after taking the mount to the quality lab at work and testing it. The seat is great! It's soft in the middle where baby sits and on the back, but not on the sides. This is good because it allows you to make the seat so narrow. I have very little clearance between handlebars, stem, head tube and top tube but this thing fits PERFECTLY! His legs have enough room, he's very narrow and doesn't affect my fit much. It's wider than my knees, but with the right size bike frame, my knees don't touch the saddle. It's really great to have such a small impact on your riding position when you have a kid on your bike! I will have a new mountain bike this weekend that should suit this configuration even better, I will update this review. Riding in this seat with a 28-pound baby is absolutely fine. The weight that rests on the headset and is mostly concentrated above it is hardly noticeable. You can turn almost 90° to each side completely unhindered. The kid can even pull, kick and play with the handlebars, and since they're mounted on the same bar, it doesn't even slightly affect control of the bike. You'd notice the fact that you're carrying about 28 extra pounds, but not in an uncomfortable way. He can play with the built-in steering wheel and he loves it. Bumps and cracks in the road don't bother my son when he's in the seat, even on my road bike with 100psi tires. The padding does its job well without taking up too much space. That's very cool, but you really have to be 100% sure if you want to transport a child in a seat like this. Stumbling on gravel corners, tripping over the handlebars, hitting the curb incorrectly and knocking over the bike, or even just stopping unexpectedly and dropping the bike can be very devastating for a child. Even a sharp 90° wheel turn when crossing a curb incorrectly can injure a child sitting in a seat a foot from the corner without a headrest. So don't buy it if you're even a little worried that you won't make it.
