So many people watch kids throw the ball and love to tell you how fast they throw the ball. This guy is in his mid 60's! You need this device. Most people get their estimates wrong by 5-10 mph. I bought this for 2 reasons. Firstly so we can assess where my pitchers are and then help them see how small changes can make a big difference. Second, so our attackers can start getting the numbers to what they saw. We could tell them "this guy does 55" and they'd know how to time it, or if the kid REALLY pitches in his 60's (it was 11U) then they'd know to give up and shoot hips first . Just the type of field doesn't say the whole store. This device gives you the complete picture. Battery life is good, but I don't use continuous mode. Readings seem to go down when the battery gets low, but that's hard to prove. Also, you need to be very close to the ball's straight path to get the most accurate reading. Even a 4-5 foot lateral deviation can result in incorrect 4-5 mph readings.
