We were looking for a replacement collar for a 5 month old Labrador puppy. We travel a lot and because it's black it's hard to see at dusk or in the dark. Although we also use the LED collar at night, we like to have a reflective collar so it is more visible when the LED collar is not on. We love this collar! The best we've ever had! The multicolor is attractive and the reflective part is woven directly into the collar, not just on the surface. The reflective parts are bright white even on a cloudy day. We also love the design. The clip that opens to put the collar on and off the dog is made of durable plastic, but the 2 D-rings for the leash, the buckle to adjust the collar and the connector that holds the two parts of the collar together they are solid metal. which is no small thing. The plastic clip that opens to put the collar on and off is located between the 2 D-rings for the leash so there is little to no tension when the dog pulls and the collar is still held together even if the leash clip breaks the 2 D rings. Very chic and very durable. The collar also has a type of "collar" to prevent the dog from flinching. We prefer to train our dogs to walk on a slack leash and only use a flat collar, and we have found that having two D-rings attached to the leash results in more even collar tension all around when the dog is on the leash pulls. He dislikes the feel of the collar when pulling and is more sensitive to small adjustments used to get him in the right roll position. Stronger and more efficient. This is the first collar that has a separate little ring for attaching charms and we love it! The charms no longer get tangled in the leash clip and the chance of the charm detaching from the collar is much less. The small ring is far enough away from the D-rings that it doesn't get in the way at all. Very pretty! The only downside we see is that this collar is woven and quite thick. We swim a lot with our dogs and although it's the dead of winter and this collar hasn't been in the water yet, we suspect it's slow drying and can absorb odors. We will remove this collar and put on another "float collar" when the dog is in the water.
