Review on Illy Classico Roast Coffee Beans - 8.8 oz (250g) by Stephen Cooper

First of all, I usually buy espresso drinks (e.g. cappuccino) from the ubiquitous chain of stores whose names start with the letter S. What I initially liked about this chain was decaffeinated espresso ( No verdict! I'm too old to get high!), but at least in our area maybe 1 in 30 espressos was what I wanted for how they tasted when they were in Rome: soft, velvety, strong but not bitter, with a slightly creamy-sweet aftertaste. So I switched to cappuccino, where at least the bitterness has dissipated. But what I REALLY wanted was a smooth, delicious espresso. At home I tried many brands and none was more than decent. After reading many reviews I finally ordered it. In a word, AMAZING! Although the beans are ground in my old Hamilton Beach grinder and the espresso is made in my old DeLonghi coffee maker. Soft, fragrant, without a hint of bitterness. The first cup (double shot) made me feel like I was back in Rome after breakfast drinking an espresso. Illy's wonderful reviews were spot on and I will be ordering more very soon!
