Review on MUDDER Stainless Ring Gauges Measuring by Dawn Fischer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just right in size!

My wife and I recently replaced/upgraded our original wedding/engagement/anniversary rings and we need to resize our fingers. My wife had her fingers measured at a local jeweler and we ordered her rings online. I used this ring gauge and mandrel (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BN4GPEQ/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) to measure my existing ring and finger size. When my wife's rings arrived the mandrel measured her rings accurately and this ring gauge also measured her finger accurately. My existing ring was defined as a 9 on the mandrel but 9.5 on the ring gauge felt better on my finger so I ordered that size for my new rings. New rings came, they fit perfectly and the mandrel says they are 9.5 exactly. As such, this set of ring gauges appears to be very accurate for the measurements taken by top tier professional jewelers and the fairly high quality mandrel seems to confirm this. It is important to note that this ring gauge is designed for comfortable straps. "Regular" flat straps are about 1/4 size smaller than comfort size straps. If you're measuring a regular flat band, you're better off looking for a gauge with flat rings, not this one.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Big and Chunky
