The biggest issue I had with this case is that it barely fits my "new 3DS" on both the bottom and the can be attached to the top plate. Whenever I open the 3DS from the closed position, I can feel and see the bottom and top of the case lift slightly away from the 3DS. That doesn't inspire much confidence in the protection this case can offer. I would highly recommend the Hori Duraflexi Case (soft TPU plastic) or the Hori Hard Case (hard plastic) over this product if your main concern is protecting your 3DS. I gave this product 3 stars because I personally love how it looks and how it makes my 3DS look. This TNP case is worth buying if you value aesthetics over protection.
