So that was our first "installation" of light strips. SO MUCH FUN! Not that we're "experts" but I'll share some of our insights with you: I want to order a cooler white instead of a warm white. Warm glow is fine, but not suitable for task lighting. Keep in mind that if you expect enough light to see well while getting tasks done, you should opt for a brighter white - you can always dim it with your remote if it's too bright. Our cabinets measure 11 feet. The light string we received was 13 feet long. I wanted to add an extra row of lights to the last cabinet closest to the sink. Light threads have wire cuts every 2 feet about 4-5 inches long. We rotated these parts (photo attached) so that there are no gaps in the lighting. After winding up, we were still at 11 feet. Keep this in mind when measuring! Lighting has tape on the back. We prepared the surface of the cabinets very well (sanded and cleaned with a degreaser) to ensure adhesion. So far, so good. If we find it has come loose we will do what the other reviewer recommended and put it back on. You will receive 9 adhesive-backed clips. Other reviewers said they didn't stick well, so we replaced the manufacturer's tape with Gorilla tape. Make sure you do this on the front and not by accident. There's a regular button for easy on/off switching, and there's also a remote control that offers a dimming option and a timer option. I like the idea of pressing "4 HOURS" and not thinking about it again. These lamps do not emit any noticeable heat. A big plus when working in a hot oven. The instructions say nothing about cutting off the light strand. Very likely, but we didn't take any chances. Now let's come up with all sorts of places with the hubs to place more of these lights! We are addicted!
