This is an absolute must have in our miserable time when we're forced to stay at home (forced in a way, but you know what I mean). Considering our setup here was in the office break room but some of us will be buying these for our homes and it also saves us from worrying about finding water in stores when so many hoarders selfishly take all bottles . for yourself. Why bother when you can have unlimited clean water at home without leaving your home to buy more? First, the price for it is pretty good for what you get. It'll cost you less than a subscription to the Sparklets delivery service and not much more than hand-filling your pitchers at your local water store (I won't compare it to refilling vending machines as they're just plain gross). Now add the fact that you don't have to go anywhere to pick it up or wait for a truck to bring it to you. water is always there. In addition, the price of filters is quite cheap. Do not get me wrong. They're not incredibly cheap, but their quality seems pretty good at the moment, and we appreciate that customers don't rate them like fridge manufacturers do with their (useless) filters (they're a lot better since they actually work). hold a (very detailed) email vote on which model to install in the break room. It was a choice between that and the 6 speed option, which simply added alkalinization. However, the final vote leaned heavily towards level 5 because the body needs some of its acidity to function properly. So too much (just drinking) alkaline water can actually be a bad thing. So 5 step option. The installation isn't too difficult, although it was a bit larger for our situation, since 80% of the space under the sink (the only place we were allowed to place it) is behind the bowels to the sink, without being able to go back in ( strange design but looks good from the outside). So we had to remove more than half of the piping to get to the valves/feeds on the back. Regardless, with 2-3 of us helping at all times, he completed the entire project (and the fridge extension kit that can be seen in some of the attached pictures) in about an hour and a half. This included a number of social distractions. As long as you trust yourself, everything will be fine. Remember, don't be shy about the teflon tape. If you see threads that are twisting, tape some (even if the instructions don't say so). You can never be too careful when it comes to avoiding leaks! They also give you enough of what is beautiful. He asks you to flush the system for the first time by running the tank for 2-3 hours and then flushing it from the tap for 5-6 minutes. Because the activated carbon filter initially turns the water a little blacker. This is true, although we think you'll want to do this twice (maybe even thrice to be sure). After that everything looks nice and clean. Still, it's safe after the first wash, even if you see some black dust left behind. It's just charcoal dust from the filter and is harmless. If you see something floating on top like a tiny white sediment, that's harmless as well - they're just microbubbles caused by air/pipe pressure (they eventually go away). The PPM (parts per million) of typical city tap water was close to 500 PPM (tap water in Las Vegas is a little nasty). A fridge filter (useless and expensive) gives around 460-470 PPM and a similar taste. Water treated with reverse osmosis is about 9-12 ppm. So this seems to be working quite well so far. As mentioned, we've also received an extra kit that attaches to the fridge. The fridge took a while to flush everything out so just used new water but now has the same PPM. We'll be sure to update if anything changes, but so far we love it and many of us plan to buy it at home. — Updated 05/07/2020. Everything has worked fantastic so far. No complaints from anyone including the taste. We also uploaded some images after Revain brought back the ability for customer reviews. ** If you found our review helpful, please upvote it below so I know.
