This Pergear is really very nice to have

For a cheap tripod head (not a cheap feeling) this Pergear is actually very nice to have. Having said that, I have to say that if you have a heavy DSLR like mine and add the weight of the lens, the head won't be able to lock into position when tilted; Of course, my camera doesn't usually tilt on its own. If it's tilted a little, it's usually on a tripod and I hold it up for stability. If you still don't get it, tilt the camera (heavy like my 5d mark 3) and let go, after a short while it will fall down. In any case, this works great when making right angles like a straight horizontal or a straight 90 degree down angle. I'm also not afraid of my camera falling to the ground, which is good, it just doesn't hold the tilt securely. I mean, for the price and the lasting feel, that's still a lot. I also like its simplicity, only 3 buttons to do what you need. I have a more varied Manfrotto and the boss doesn't like it because it has so many different pens (designed for video and photo) so she'd rather like this one. If need be I would buy another one.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I really don't like it, everything is fine
